Brian L. Nielsen

Brian LeRoy Nielsen, 66, passed away at his home in American Fork on Sunday, December 29, 2024. We bid farewell to our beloved Husband, Father, Brother and a true friend to many who knew him.

Brian was a beacon of light, who departed from his mortal home, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. Brian walked this life a gentle strength, touching the lives of everyone that encountered him, with an unforgettable grace.

He dedicated his talents to his family, friends and neighbors, and work places; to making the world a brighter place.

He was born October 11, 1958 in Provo, Utah to Edward LeRoy and VerNell Cook Nielsen. He grew up and attended school in Provo. He was proud to be a Christian; Brian knew the Lord, and the Lord knew Brian. 

Brian was a lover of many hobbies and interests - he found beauty in life's simple moments and encouraged us all to do the same. He set a wonderful example of love, kindness, hard work, and loving on his children and grandchildren. He worked as a truck driver in the Concrete and Rock Products industry and was a very hard worker and provider for his family. In his free time he enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, camping, snow skiing, tinkering, gardening, remodeling, and just being outdoors. He loved the outdoors! The family cabin in Midway was his favorite place to get-a-way to. He was currently remodeling his garage, a project that while it will continue without him, will be one of his living legacies.

He is survived by his loving wife, Julie Connelly Nielsen; son, Jared Brian (Heidi) Nielsen of Lindon, Utah; daughters, Ashley Nielsen (Cole) Rose of Murray, Utah, Emily Nielsen (Lloyd) Kianfar of Murray, and Hannah Nielsen (Travis "TJ") Orr; 6 beautiful grandchildren; brother, James O. (Lisa) Nielsen, sisters Lori Nielsen (Charles) Griffith, and Raquel Nielsen Hale. He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father; his sister Saundra, and his brother Lon.

Please join us in celebrating Brian's remarkable life. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday January 7, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Services entrusted to Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary.
