Our little shining light and miracle Brielle Beus, with a spirit too big for her petite body, is now our guardian angel after 13 years of sharing her spunky, talented, smiling, and artsy personality with us. Brielle exceeded everyone''s expectations as she overcame a severe heart defect as an infant and respiratory weakness as young child. Then, on August 10, 2013, our feisty, beautiful Brielle--not surprisingly on her own terms told Heavenly Father "it was time for her to go;" four hours after she said that she peacefully ended her three year battle with AML leukemia at home surrounded by her immediate family. She was able to express her love and feelings for things that were important to her up until a half hour prior to her passing. Brielle''s articulate speaking ability and vivacious personality touched thousands of lives after she was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota June 15, 2000, where she spent her first five weeks in the hospital after open heart surgery for Ebstein''s heart anomaly. Brielle continued to be unforgettable as she touched lives and made great friends in Minnesota until 2003, then later in Spokane Valley, Washington, then spent most of her few tender years in Hooper, Utah. She attended and warmed hearts at Hooper, Quest Academy, and Country View elementary schools, where she finished the 6th grade, after missing most of the last three years of school due to cancer treatments and recovery. Brielle spent over six months of her life as an in-patient at Primary Children''s hospital, and had hundreds of visits with caring medical providers. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Hooper Fremont Ward, where many friends and teachers helped her develop her strong faith, hope, love, and testimony of everything that is good and lovely. Brielle enjoyed watching Disney Channel, AFV, and the local news. She loved dancing and animals, and loved to draw and painta"she even designed her own burial dress, and wrote a poem that was made into a song by a family member. By far, Brielle''s favorite thing to do was spend time with family, especially her dad and mom, Shawn J. and Kim Miles Beus who was her constant companion and care giver, and her older sister and best friend Breanna, and her two little sisters Brooklee, and Braylee Beus. She was also blessed to be a part of two amazing large families. Her Grandparents Ralph and Sharon Miles, and John and Fay Beusa"also all of Hooper, Utah, lovingly cherished her as their special granddaughter. She was thoroughly loved by her 77 first cousins (that''s right, 77), 34 aunts and uncles, and many close friends and neighbors. She will be greeted in heaven by her uncle-in-law Layne, her cousin Brant, many faithful ancestors, and her uncle Glenn, to whom we temporarily pass the baton of fatherhood. We think Brielle touched more lives for good than most people do in seven or eight decades. She was wise beyond her years; sometimes too much so. She also had amazing opportunities to share her engaging personality and be part of amazing events, such as at 12 years old, she co-hosted "Good Things Utah" and was graciously sponsored in fun runs and events to support her and other cancer kids. She deservedly was treated like royalty, and even had her own "prom," loved her limo ride, and received compassionate prayers and gifts from friends and strangers throughout the world. Kind souls and nonprofit organizations helped her meet David Archuleta, Thurl Bailey, Dieter Uchtdorf, and "coincidentally" bump into Thomas S Monson. She also met the gracious stars of RSL, the Utah Jazz and Jazz Bear, and was sent to see Wicked in New York City, spend time in the warmth of southern California, and was granted a Make a Wish trip to theme parks in Orlando--all with her close-nit immediate family. Despite her young mortal age, we believe Brielle is a leader on the other side. She was never afraid to tell people what to do. Our hearts break at losing her during this short mortal life, but we rejoice in knowing that we can be together again with her someday, that she is disease and pain free, charming everyone with her charisma, drawing and creating more designs, and of course, dancing again. In lieu of flowers, please "pay it forward" by supporting childhood cancer awareness, patients, and the search for a cure in any way you can. But more importantly, do as Brielle did: enjoy each day, forgive quickly, smile and laugh often, reach out to the vulnerable, and find someone to love more! To honor Brielle, please wear her favorite color, bright aqua blue to her funeral services. Viewings will be held Friday August 16th, 6-8 pm, and Saturday August 17th, 11:45am-12:45pm, with the funeral at 1pm Saturday August 17tha"all at the Hooper LDS Stake Center, 5375 S. 5900 W., Hooper, Utah. Internment services and a balloon release will be at Hooper Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary.
