Brittny Ann Flaten Gillespie

1979 ~ 2016

Beloved wife, daughter, sister, friend passed away peacefully into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Monday, March 7, 2016 from complications of diabetes.

Brittny was born on September 1, 1979 in Salt Lake City to Wesley Flaten and Mary Ann Bruun (Flaten).  Brittny spent her childhood in Taylorsville and Morgan, Utah graduating from Morgan High School in 1998.

Brittny began working at Deseret Industries where she met the love of her life Andrew Gillespie, whom she married on October 25, 2003.  Their marriage was solemnized on May 17, 2008 in the Bountiful Temple.

Brittny was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Her numerous health issues often kept her from participating fully in life and church functions however she had a strong testimony of the Gospel and a love for her Savior Jesus Christ.

She had an infectious laugh, a wonderful smile, a generous nature and so much love for her family, especially Drew.  She loved everything Disney, loved to cross stitch and had beautiful red hair.

Brittny, we will miss you greatly, we look forward to the day when we will be reunited until then, we will hold you in our hearts.

Brittny is survived by her husband, Drew Gillespie, Fruit Heights; mother, Mary Ann Bruun, Fruit Heights; father, Wesley M. (Rita) Flaten, Ogden; siblings, Melissa (Chad) Triplett, So. Ogden; Zackary Flaten, Ogden; and Natalie (Cameron) Hansen, Orange, CA.  Also survived by her loving in-laws, Harry and Ellen Gillespie, Farmington; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, John Theron and Irene Johnson Bruun.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Somerset Chapel, 1885 Summerwood Dr., Farmington, Utah.  Friends and family may visit Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Farmington City Cemetery.
