With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved child, Brody Jaden Birks, who was taken from us too soon on September 2, 2024, in Columbus, Georgia.
Brody enjoyed many things growing up. He participated in the Scouts, earning many badges. He played soccer. He also played little league football for Box Elder and Ogden. He excelled in many positions and frequently ran the ball for many touchdowns.
Due to his parents’ divorce, he became a part of a blended family and gained many sisters and brothers. He still had a bond and love for every one of his siblings. He became a big brother and helped his mom with the new babies. He was a great big brother.
Brody spent most of his childhood in Utah but later moved with his dad and family to Georgia. There he soon developed into a Southern boy/man. He adapted to the southern accent and could sure lay on the charm with his smile. He was well-mannered and polite. All that knew him thought of him as a friend. He had a great sense of humor and always had jokes or pranks up his sleeve. His smile was contagious and all that knew him had said he had a heart of gold. He always encouraged everyone to keep their head up and keep going. He loved his daughter and was inspired by her to do things better.
He loved fishing and spending time outdoors. He loved watching football with his family and cheering for the Denver Broncos. He loved building things and working with his hands.
At the tender age of 34, he brought immeasurable joy and light into our lives with his kind heart, radiant smile, and boundless curiosity. Though his time with us was brief, the depth of love and happiness he shared will forever remain in our hearts.
Brody was met in heaven by his daughter Serenity, Grandpa Kent, Grandpa Birks, Grandpa Gary, Grandma and Grandpa Dawson, and many more family and friends. Brody is survived by his daughter Carly Rose Birks, his parents Brandy (Troy) Eddy, Gary (Teri) Martin Birks, Jr., Grandparents, Terry and Corky Sweet, Geanita Birks, and Grandma Shane (Zig). Siblings, Dylan Crosby, Trayce Martinez, Braelyn (Ryker)Brailsford, Maximus Martinez, Alisha Torres, Ariel Torres, Kaelee (Adam) Schoonmaker, Christopher Crosby, and Curtis Crosby. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
