Bruce Edward Anderson

October 4, 1940 ~ September 30, 2015

Bruce Edward Anderson, 74, passed away suddenly Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at McKay-Dee Hospital of an aortic aneurism. He had been in very good health and was working on a home improvement project at the time.

He was born October 4, 1940 in Logan, Utah, a son of Joseph Leon and Maude Mae Morris Anderson. He lived in Logan and Clearfield; graduating from Davis High School in 1960.

Enlisting with his best friend, Don Ames, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1960 – 1964 and was witness to the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Thanks to a mutual friend, Bruce met the future love of his life, Cheri Ann Christensen on a blind date in the spring of 1966. After a whirlwind romance, Bruce proposed after only 6 weeks. They were married in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on November 4, 1966.

Bruce was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in various callings and especially enjoyed his many years as a Boy Scout Leader.

Lucky man that he was, he retired early from HAFB as a machinist after 32 years. Never one to be idle, he founded Andy’s AutoBody and always had multiple projects going. He was well known for his talented hands that could fix, create, or build anything including custom vehicles and three different homes in Riverdale and South Ogden where he and Cheri raised their family.

Bruce and Cheri enjoyed traveling and took many cruises and vacations all over the world. They also loved nature and enjoyed camping and boating with family and friends.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Cheri; their children, Kimberly (David) Stryker and Derek (Alicia) Anderson. He adored his children and six grandchildren; Stratten, Megan, Devan, Kelsey, Lauren and Samuel and enjoyed spending time with them individually and all together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Morris, Robert, Joseph, and two sisters, Elaine Stephens and Carol Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. The family will meet with friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
