Bruce D. Parkinson
August 26, 1947 ~ July 31, 2015
On Friday, July 31, 2015, Bruce D. Parkinson passed from his earthly physical troubles to a much better place where he returned to his healthy, strong body. He was returning from one of his favorite places on earth, the Uinta Mountains. He was 67.
He is survived by his ever-devoted wife, Suzanne Parkinson; daughter, Jo (Adam) Palmer; grandchildren, Aden and Sally Palmer; brother, C. Brent (Nancy) Parkinson; and sister, JoAnn Nagro of Las Vegas, NV. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Irene and Archie Parkinson, his brother, Archie and his brother-in-law, Michael Nagro.
Bruce was the hardest working man anyone ever knew. As a young man he worked many family farms. He worked retail to put himself through college and he graduated from Weber State. While working in management at the Ogden Kmart he met the love of his life, Sue Harrington. They were married for 44 years. Bruce also worked in management for many years with Checker Auto and O’ Reilly auto parts.
Two of Bruce’s greatest passions were hunting and fishing. He also loved photography, prospecting, model airplanes, trains, and remote control ANYTHING. He was a different man after his daughter and grandchildren were born. Life and pleasure took on new meaning. Think fireworks and that says it all!
A celebration of his life will begin with a viewing to be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. And again Saturday, a viewing from 9: 45 to 10: 45 a.m. A private family service will be held following Saturday’s viewing.
In lieu of flowers, the family would encourage donations to the Salvation Army in memory of Bruce.
