SYRACUSE a€" Bruce Watkins, 85, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2010. Bruce was born in Naples, UT on May 6, 1925 to Paul Edward and Reva Mae Case Watkins.

Bruce graduated from Uintah High School and served in the Army Air Corp. He married June LaRue Sessions on February 9, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. She preceded him in death on April 11, 2006.

He was a loan officer and branch manager of Clearfield State Bank, Community First Bank and First Security Bank. He served as a Sunset City Councilman, on the Clearfield City Chamber of Commerce and in the Kiwanis Club. A lifetime member of the LDS Church, he served in a bishopric, as a high councilman and in many other callings. He gave his life and service to family, community and church. He enjoyed carpentry, building houses and gardening.

Survived by son Kent Arlen (Tess) Watkins; daughters Gwen Sphar, Janis (George) Fleming, Colleen (Ron) Pacheco; 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren with two more on the way.

Preceded in death by his wife LaRue, his parents, his sister, and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 13, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. Friends may visit family on Sunday from 6-8 and Monday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. where military honors will be accorded.
