Bryant Michael Gomm
On Saturday, September 30th 2017, our beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, Bryant Michael Gomm, returned home to a loving Heavenly Father at age 43 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bry was born June 11th, 1974 in Ogden, Utah, to Michael and Pamela. He grew up in Logan, Fruit Heights and Kaysville. He graduated from Davis High School and Weber State University. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He worked at Bowman’s Market in Kaysville for many years where he was well loved and had a positive impact on the community. He was a construction inspector for Gomm Inspection Services for more than 20 years. He was known for his professionalism, integrity and work ethic. People loved working with him.
Bry loved life and had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed finding and exploring ghost towns. He appreciated fine music, art and travel. He dabbled in painting, loved to cook and was a talented writer. He valued learning and trivia, and was once a contestant on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. He was a lifelong BYU fan and often traveled to games with his dad and brother. He was passionate about Christmas and was always the best and most thoughtful gift-giver. He adored his 17 nieces and nephews, and they cherished their Uncle Bry and the time they spent together.
Bry had a brilliant mind, a pure heart, and was kind, selfless and genuine. He was a man without guile and full of integrity. His sense of humor was quick, smart and laugh-out-loud funny. He was friendly to all and anyone who met him felt his goodness. He helped others see the best in themselves. His optimism was unmatched and his countenance radiated light. He led an exemplary life.
Bry was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in the Belgium, Brussels mission where he spoke French. He has loved serving in his wards through the years. Some of his favorite experiences were as a primary teacher, gospel doctrine teacher and ward mission leader. He was loved as an instructor and known for being knowledgeable, humble and teaching with the spirit. He had unwavering faith and an incredible love for his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Bry is preceded in death by Keith and Ruth Gomm (grandparents), Dean and DeCarma Freer (grandparents), Gary Gomm (uncle) and Jean Darling (aunt).
Bry is survived by his mother, Pamela Freer (Bruce) Parry; his father, Michael (Katie) Gomm; his sisters, Kellie (Ryan) Wilko, Emily (Kyle) Hamblin, Kristin (Tim) Tenney; his brother, Nathan (Erika) Gomm; his nieces and nephews; and the love of his life, Myndee Moulton.
The funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6th at 11:00 a.m. at the Orchard Grove Ward located at 2680 East Cherry Lane in Layton. Friends and family may visit Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road, and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will take place at the Kaysville City Cemetery immediately following the funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.
