Burt Ellis Penrod was born to Stella Jane Mills and Floyd Alfred Penrod in Liberty, Utah, on December 4, 1933. He died Sunday, July 20, 2008 of injuries sustained in an accident.
Burt married his eternal sweetheart, Ja Nae Heitz, on a beautiful sunny day, July 14, 1955, in the Logan LDS Temple.
He worked for Heitz Heating, Holbrook Heating, Clover Club Potato Chip Co., A.J. Sheet Metal, Western Sheet Metal, A.A. Maycock, and owned Metro Heating for 20 years.
Burt retired from the National Guard after 20 years of service.
He served a Stake Mission, then he and Ja Nae served two church missions to Ibadan, Nigeria and Phoenix, Durban, South Africa. He held many positions in the LDS church. He loved serving in the Ogden temple for the past seven years.
Burt is survived by his wonderful wife, Ja Nae; five children, Judi (Tim) Morris, AZ; Mike (Susan) Penrod, Harrisville; Susan (Kevin) Dalpias, North Ogden; Carolyn (Chris) Perry, Sunset; and Layne Penrod, GA; four brothers, Floyd/Jack (Donna) , North Ogden; Dallas (Joann), Brigham City; Lynn, Ogden; and Milton/Buzz (Suzanne), Smithfield. He treasured his 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Next to the Lord, he loved his family more than anything in the world.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Keith, and a sister-in-law, Darlene.
The family extends appreciation to everyone who assisted in transporting and caring for Burt at Ogden Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 26th at 11:00 a.m. at the Roy North Park Ward Chapel, 4275 South 2175 West.
Friends and family may visit on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the church.
