B. Kent Erickson
January 4, 1942 ~ January 11, 2018
Byron Kent Erickson returned to his loving Heavenly Father on January 11, 2018. He was born on January 4, 1942 in Preston, Idaho to Byron Parley Erickson and Iris Stephenson. Kent grew up in North Ogden, Utah. He served in the Central Atlantic States Mission. He met Pamela Ford while attending Weber State College; they were married in the Logan LDS Temple on July 9, 1964. They have five children.
He started his career at South Ogden Jr High where he spent 34 years as a science teacher and counselor. He was a dedicated scout master and helped numerous young men achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. He served in many church callings including Bishop of the Washington Terrace 8th Ward.
His health declined rapidly over the past year as he suffered the effects of hydrocephalus. Thanks to all of the doctors and nurses who cared for our Dad, especially the staff at Hidden Valley Assisted Living.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pam; children: Tracie (Kevin) Jackson, Michael (Jenny) Erickson, Nathan (Jennifer) Erickson, Matthew (Brandy) Erickson, and Nicholas (Sarah) Erickson; grandkids: Jilien, Jaden, Jessica, Kiersten, Lyndsey Myken, Kinsey, Mason, Gunner, Henley, Remy, McKay, Oakley, Grady, and Colby. He is also survived by his siblings: Carla (Ken) Alder, Norine (Grant) Hogan, and David (Joan) Erickson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 8th Ward, 350 West 5100 South. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
