C. O''Neil Anderson
OGDEN a" C. O''Neil Anderson, 86, died Friday, January 7, 2011 at McKay-Dee Hospital.
He was born January 13, 1924 in Bear River City, Utah, son of Calvin Olif and Vivian Marie Iverson Anderson.
O''Neil married Rosetta Murphy in Ogden. Rosetta preceded him in death on February 24, 1972. He married Norma Christensen on April 13, 1974. She died March 4, 2005. Both marriages were later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple.
He was raised and educated in Garland, Utah, moving to the Ogden area in 1947 where he lived for the remainder of his life.
O''Neil was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he was a High Priest, Home Teacher and Scout Master in the Canyon Hollows Ward.
O''Neil proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II.
He worked at Swift & Company for 20 years as a meat cutter. He retired as the head custodian at Horace Mann Elementary School in the Ogden City School District. O''Neil loved camping in Island Park, hunting, fishing, riding his A.T.V. and long road trips in his car.
Surviving are his children, Sheryl Murdock, Joan (Tom) Souza, Mary Ann (Dave) Mueller, Calvin (Emma) Anderson, Jeanne (Clark) Peterson, Jacki (Robert) Christoffersen, Michael (Lorena) Anderson, Karen (Galyn) Price, and 23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving one brother and two sisters, Craig Mart (Kathy) Anderson, Voris Austin and Vicky (Jim) Argyle.
Preceding O''Neil in death were his wives, one daughter, Chyane, one son Kidd, one brother Douglas, two grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Canyon Hollows Ward Chapel, 1550 Rushton with Bishop Brent Lang officiating.
Family will meet with friends at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday at the Ward Chapel 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, where Military Honors will be accorded.
