It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clarence David Leffler Jr., affectionately known as Dave, on September 16, 2023. Dave’s departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He was born December 2, 1956 to Clarence David Leffler and Barbara Nelson Leffler. He grew up in Clearfield, Utah graduating from Clearfield High School. He attended Utah Valley Technical College until his automotive skills were discovered and he was given a job in his chosen field at car dealerships. He began working at Mountain Bell Telephone Company in 1980 working first as an Automotive Fleet Mechanic then moving to Lineman and then Network Tech. He retired from the phone company in 2018.
On September 10, 1982 he married Susan Treseder. They celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary the week before his passing. Together they have two daughters, Brooke Lyn Handy (Robert) and Rachele Robyn Johnson (Norm), who were the joy of his life.
Dave was the man who found joy in life’s simplest pleasures. He had an insatiable love for vacations, always seeking new adventures and experiences with his beloved family. His enthusiasm for travel was surpassed by his devotion to spending quality time with his family, especially his grandsons; Noah, Chase, Kade and Jude. Dave’s eyes would light up as he shared his passion for golf with them, imparting not only the techniques but also the values of patience and perseverance.
Dave was much more than a family man; he was a pillar of support and kindness for all who knew him. He had an innate ability to make others laugh with his quick wit and sarcasm. His sense of humor was infectious, brightening even the darkest of days. Dave was always the first to lend a helping hand, a true friend to anyone in need, embodying the spirit of compassion and selflessness.
Dave’s departure leaves a void in our lives but let us remember him not with tears but with laughter and joy he brought into our lives. His legacy will continue to shine through the cherished memories we hold dear.
He is survived by his wife, daughters, grandsons, siblings Vickie, Sandy and Mike, special niece Katie and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
