C. Jay Roylance "Gone Hunting"

HUNTSVILLE a€" Clifford Jay Roylance, 74, husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to many, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Ogden Regional Medical Center.

He was born March 31, 1936 in Ogden, a son of William Albert and Zudora Vivian Wiseman Roylance. He resided in Huntsville for most of his life.

On July 15, 1957, Jay married Patricia Woods in Ogden.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Huntsville 1st Ward.

He drove a cement truck for most of his life for Waterfall Construction and Hill Air Force Base. He also worked for Tri-State Minerals, and Defense Depot Ogden as a warehouseman. After his retirement, he took care of the Huntsville Landfill where he enjoyed talking with the residents.

Jay enjoyed hunting and collecting guns. He loved, and was loved, by his family, the residents of Huntsville, and many others.

The family expresses special thanks to Brenda, his homecare nurse; Jennifer, his homecare therapist; the staff at Mt. Ogden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Ogden Regional Medical Center for all the love and care rendered to him during his final days.

Surviving are his wife Patricia of Huntsville; three sons, Ronnie (Carol) Roylance, South Ogden; William (Patty) Roylance, Texas; Jeff Roylance, Huntsville; two daughters, Claudia (Lynn) Byington, Roy; Juanita (James) Shult, New Mexico; 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Jay is also survived by one brother, Greg (Julie) Roylance, Huntsville; and his sister, Kayie (Dave) Powers, North Ogden.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, one sister, and one infant child.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Huntsville 1st Ward Chapel, 277 South 7400 East, with Bishop Dale Maxwell officiating.

Family will visit with friends at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday at the Ward Chapel from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Interment, Huntsville Cemetery.
