Calvin Dewey Burgermeyer

Calvin Dewey Burgermeyer passed away suddenly in his home the afternoon of Friday, November 24, 2017.  He was born on April 18, 1926, the son of Valentine and Mary L. Burgenmeyer, in Crystal Springs, MS.  Calvin was the second oldest of six children.

He moved from his home at the age of 16 and at age 18 he enlisted in the Aviation Cadet Program of the Army Air Force for pilot training.  He became a B-29 mechanic serving time in Kansas and later in Peru.  After his discharge, he lived in St. Louis, MO for several years.  He then lived in Jackson Hole, WY for a time before settling in Ogden, UT, where he met and married Shirley Glenn on October 15, 1965.

Calvin was an avid outdoorsman spending as much free time as possible hunting, hiking, exploring and making films.  He was a member of Toastmasters for several years as well as a member of several dance clubs.

He is survived by his two sons; David Kent, Kurt Lamont, and one daughter; Connie Sue (Andreas), his brother Alvin L. (Viola), and two sisters; Alice, Joyce (Alex), and his most beloved cat Bubba!!!

Friends may visit family on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
