Carl B. Baker

Carl B. Baker, beloved husband, the best Dad ever, loving Granddad and Great Granddad passed away on December 27, 2014, after living a life full of love and laughter with family and friends. He was born on October 17, 1928, and was proud to share his birthday with his son, Norm, and grandson, Tim. Carl spent his boyhood years on a large farm in Roy, Utah, with his six brothers and six sisters. He remembered teasing his brothers and discovered that, "I could run faster scared than Bill could run mad!"

Carl married the beautiful love of his life, Glenna Gene Quigley ((Snookie)), on November 26, 1947, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. He cherished and adored her every day of his life. Together, they raised five children. When frustrated with his kids, he was known to shake his head in dismay and say "You poor, damn, dumb kids!" Dad always chuckled when he was reminded of this years later.

Carl and Glenna moved to Burley, Idaho, where he loved farming with his brothers until he was injured in a car accident. They later moved back to Ogden where he worked for 30 years at Paramount and Cream O' Weber Dairies. He enjoyed building and remodeling houses, creating custom pieces of furniture, finding treasures at Smith & Edwards, taking his family on many wonderful vacations, and going on spur-of-the-moment trips to Wendover.

His grandchildren remember spending childhood days playing in the treehouse he built for them and the xoxo's he marked with his red pen on their little hands.

After retiring, Carl and Glenna spent 25+ years wintering in Arizona, where they made many lifelong friends.

Carl is survived by his wife of 67 years, Glenna, his son Norm (Diane) Baker, Shar (Jim) Alzheimer. Diana (Tom) Karrenberg, Doug (Sandy) Baker, and Scott (Carol) Baker, 20 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Jim (Lorie) Baker. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Parley and Maud Beazer Baker.

Till we meet again. xoxo
