Carl M Hansen

TAYLOR - Carl Myrlin Hansen passed away peacefully on Friday , February 19th at his home at the age of 93.

He was born in Salina, Utah on October 3, 1916 to Irvin and Jenniel Rasmussen Hansen.

Myrlin received his higher education from Snow College and Brigham Young University. He received a Master''s Degree in Education from Utah State University. He taught school in Uintah County where he met his sweetheart, Oertel Hadley. They were married June 25, 1941 in the Manti LDS Temple.

He served in WWII in the US Army. Myrlin and Oertel settled in Taylor, Utah where Myrlin taught in area schools, and was also a school Principal. He enjoyed farming their land and continued for years after his retirement.

Myrlin''s greatest joy in life was his family. They raised two sons, Craig (Betsy) Hansen and Dwayne (Jenann) Hansen. His six grandchildren were also his pride and joy. They grew up going with grandpa on Saturday mornings for pancakes at Dick''s. Right up to the last minute of his life, he enjoyed his four young great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, one brother and five sisters.

The family would like to thank McKay Dee and Wasatch Care Center for their care.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Taylor Stake Center, 2200 South 4300 West, Taylor.

Friends and family may call Monday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South in Roy and Tuesday 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the Stake center.
