Carl Harris Law
Carl Harris Law was born on June 4, 1928 in Provo, Utah. He is the youngest child of Carl Andrew Law and Sabina Ann Greer. He grew up on the outskirts of Provo. Carl was born at home, because there wasn’t a hospital in Provo at that time. His father was a boiler maker for the railroad and his mother was a homemaker. His father always had a job and a cheerful attitude. His mother always had eggs from her chickens, and the aroma of freshly baked bread coming from the kitchen. When hungry travelers, who were struggling to find employment, came by their home, she would feed them fried egg sandwiches in exchange for their labors. Carl grew up with this example of kindness and generosity.
When Carl was about 20, he met Barbara Kennedy, and he thought she was pretty cute. They were married on September 7, 1950. Carl and Barbara have 4 sons, Steven, David, Reed, and Bruce. Carl worked independently as a furniture and home accessories salesman. He was able to provide a good living for his wife and 4 sons.
Carl and Barbara raised their children to love God and to give service to their fellowman. Carl set an example of faith and faithfulness, by serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in a variety of capacities. He was a Stake Missionary for many years and also spent several years as a Bishop in their ward. He also loved working in both the Salt Lake City, and Bountiful Temples. As Carl advanced in years, he made a decision to be cheerful like his father, no matter what difficulties he faced. In his last years he became wheelchair bound and his body became quite painful. He lived up to his resolve always giving cheerful greetings and bright smiles. His family will be forever grateful for his wonderful example.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara, his sons Steven (Suzanne) Law, David (Melanie) Law, Reed (Irene) Law, and Bruce (Kate) Law, 19 grandchildren, and 50 great-grandchildren.
