Carl Leroy Olson
Carl Leroy Olson died quietly in his sleep on August 4, 2008 from an acute leukemia. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 6, 1922, the son of Carl Leroy Olson, Sr. and Verny Christina Jansson Olson. He attended school in South Salt Lake, graduating from Granite High School. He graduated from the American University in Washington, D.C.
He married Lorraine Stone on April 17, 1945 in Elko, Nevada, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. They are the parents of two children. He worked for United Airlines and his career took him to several cities across the United States.
He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His favorite service was the thirty years he spent as an ordinance worker and as a sealer in the Washington, D.C. and Ogden Temples.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine, his children, Linda and Dale Robertson, Craig and Dianna Olson, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and his sister, Dorothy Olson Wardrop. He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Ralph.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 8, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the LaDonna Mesa Ward, 2375 E. 3225 No. Layton, with Bishop Chris Miller, officiating. Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
