Carla Lee Huber, 71, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 24, 2020.
Carla was born in Taft, California on January 18, 1949 to Albert John and Barbara Lee Huber. Always a California girl, she grew up in Taft, Bakersfield, and Sacramento. She graduated from San Juan High School and attended American River College. Was previously married to Lyle Hargrave. The marriage resulted in four wonderful children: Teresa Mae, Brian Lee, Stacey Lyn and Robert Eugene whom were raised between Utah and Washington State.
Carla had so many talents and interests but her first love was art and painting watercolors. She would often enter her watercolor and photographs at various shows at the Eccles Art Center in Ogden. She was a wiz with a sewing machine and cross-stitched/embroidered numerous projects. She loved going on long drives and would just pick a road and go down it just to see what was there. Her other interests included gardening, stained glass, quilting, walking in nature and anything around the house to fix.
She is preceded in death by her father Albert Huber, mother Barbara Ewy Huber, brother John Huber, and stepmother Ida Huber Anderson. She is survived by her brother Kirt (Patricia) Huber, sister Debbie Parker, sister Ryna (Steve) Taylor, sister in law Denice Huber, four children, Teresa (Carlos) Michel, Brian (Tania) Hargrave, Stacey (Marc) Guerra and Robert (Nicole) Hargrave. She adored her five grandchildren, Taylor, Tyler, Emma, Christian and Jessica, affectionately referred by them as Nano. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, beloved cousins and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the American Alzheimer’s Association or to a local nature or art center.
The family is appreciative of the care and love she received in her last year of life from the staff at Sunridge Assisted Living Layton and Atlas Homecare & Hospice.
A celebration of life will be held at the end of June. She will be inurned at Mountain View Cemetery with her parents and grandparents in Oakland, California.
