Carlos passed away peacefully on March 22, 2024, at Fairfield Village in Layton, Utah, at the age of 81, surrounded by the love of children. His legacy of love, strength, and service will forever be engraved in our hearts.

Born on January 16, 1943, in Globe, Arizona, Charlie was the beloved son of Maria Benina Archuleta and Armando Raul Horta. From his early days, it was evident that Charlie possessed a rare blend of kindness, resilience, and determination that would shape the course of his life.

In addition to his remarkable military service and unwavering dedication to his family, Carlos shared a beautiful and enduring love story with Dolores T. Horta. They were married multiple times, but their official anniversary was celebrated on October 10, 1966. From the moment they met, Carlos had an instant connection that blossomed into a lifelong bond filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Together, they weathered life's challenges with grace and unwavering devotion, serving as an inspiration to all who knew them. Carlos and Dolores's love will forever be remembered and cherished by those whose lives they touched and blessed.

Carlos's unwavering commitment to service led him to proudly serve his country in the military. His dedication and bravery during his time of service filled him with immense pride, a sentiment that he carried with him throughout his life. His experiences in the military instilled in him values of honor, duty, and sacrifice, which he exemplified in everything he did.

A memorial service to honor Carlos's life will be held at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
