It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our sweet baby girl, Carly Jann Hodson. Carly died on March 16, 2025, at Primary Children’s Hospital from injuries sustained from a car accident on February 21, 2025. She was born on April 2, 2015, to parents Scott and Mandy Hodson of Farr West, Utah. Although her journey, here on earth, was short lived, her life was full of joy and adventure where she spent the majority of time in the outdoors with her family, on the soccer field with her Swat Crush team and horseback riding with her best friend and sister, McKayla. The two of them were inseparable.
Carly's nickname was Sparkles due to her spunky, spicy attitude. Competition is what drove her, whether it was on the field, at school or in the arena. She was at the top of her class in all subjects, including reading and math, and won Best Bookmark Design for her school’s art contest. On the soccer field, she was a gifted goalie and team leader.
Carly recently fell in love with horses and she and her sister, McKayla, joined the North Ogden Jr. Posse where they competed in the Pioneer Days Rodeo and parade.
Beyond her many accomplishments, Carly had a loving, uplifting spirit that will be sorely missed by those who knew her. It is a comfort knowing that she is now free from pain and in the loving arms of her Father in Heaven along with her paternal grandparents, Mike Hodson and Jann and Kenny Edwards.
Carly is survived by her parents, Scott and Mandy Hodson; sister, McKayla; maternal grandparents, Ron and Cindy Leech, Kirt and Jenn Larsen; and her Mustang, Chance, along with countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services to celebrate Carly's life will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Poplar Farr West Stake Center 1745 N. 2300 W., Farr West, Utah. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd., North Ogden, Utah and Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment, West Haven Cemetery.
The family encourages those planning to attend Wednesday's funeral to wear bright, springtime colors as a true tribute to our angel whose favorite color was purple.
We want to thank the incredible, loving staff of Primary Children's Medical Center for the love they showered on our baby girl during this most difficult time. And words cannot express, enough, our gratitude to the many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who offered around-the-clock vigils in support for our family along with the countless numbers who supported the many fundraising efforts. Your love and kindness will never be forgotten.
