Carol Diane Bateman Baxter

March 3, 1945 ~ August 17, 2016

Carol Diane Bateman Baxter, 71, loving wife, daughter, and aunt returned to her Father in Heaven on August 17, 2016.  Diane was born on March 3, 1945 in Ogden the eldest child born to Eugene and LaVon Hampson Bateman.  She attended schools in Weber County, graduating from Bonneville High School as part of the first three year graduating class in 1963.  She attended St. Benedict’s School of Nursing.  She worked for the IRS for 15 years and also five years for Weber County.

Diane married Gerrald “Jerry” Baxter on June 7, 1968 in the Logan LDS Temple and was married for 48 years.  She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Diane was always active in various projects.  She started working on genealogy in her 20’s and enjoyed the rewards it brought her.  Never with idol hands, Diane loved to crochet and sew.  Always busy, always for others.

Diane lived in South Ogden the majority of her life with the past four years spent at South Ogden Post Acute (formerly Manor Care).

Diane was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the young age of 34.  She fought a strong, hard, and long battle for 37 years.

Diane was an active part of her siblings lives as well as her nieces and nephews activities.  Diane loved us all and we love her.  We are so grateful for the example she set for all of us.

Diane is survived by her husband, Jerry; brother, Don (Becky) Bateman, South Ogden; sisters, Cheryl (Brad) Smith, Stockton, CA; Bonnie (Jim) Tenney, Nampa, ID; Kathy (Steven) Palmer, South Ogden; and many nieces and nephews who love her dearly.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
