Carol Anne Spencer Bennett, 80, of Syracuse, UT, passed away May 23, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Blackfoot, ID on May 21, 1942, to Henry Wilson and Norma Cutler Spencer.
Carol was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a strong testimony and bore it often. She magnified her callings and touched the lives of many sisters, Primary children, and especially the youth. She quickly became friends with all she came into contact with. Many called her blessed because of her love.
In her early years, Carol met her sweetheart, Norman John Bennett, and they were later married on August 16, 1961, in the Salt Lake Temple. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Carol felt her greatest accomplishment in life was in raising her 5 children and loving her 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren (4 on the way). They are the joy of her life. She cherished every moment they spent together and was proud of all they were accomplishing. She loved them so much that each grandchild claims to be her favorite. She also loved her adopted “rags to riches” cat named Oscar; they were companions for 12 years.
Carol’s talents were many. She was a wonderful cook, organizer, creator of family traditions, public speaker, secret keeper, and giver of advice. She loved making memories with her family at their little piece of heaven in the Uintah mountains.
Carol is survived by her husband, Norm Bennett; their 5 children, Karla (Tim) Robinett, Debbie (Scott) Woodrow, Angie (Eric) Barlow, all of Syracuse, UT, Teri (Bryan) Child, Pleasant View, UT, Spencer (Liz) Bennett, Plain City, UT; her sister, JoAnne Vimahi Uintah, UT. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Norma Spencer; her sisters, Helen Beazer and Laura Mitchell; and great-grandson, Carter Brett Thurgood.
The family would love to express their gratitude for the loving care given by Tyler Hunsaker and Erin Orchard from Tender Care Hospice.
