Carol Ann Burns, 79, passed away January 7, 2022, in Syracuse, Utah. She couldn’t wait to see the love of her life – Jerry – who passed in September 2021.
She was born on April 2, 1942 at Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah to Myron and Ruth (Egbert) Bodily. Carol grew up in Clearfield.
She married the love of her life Jerry on September 6, 1973 and they were later sealed for time and all eternity on August 8, 1987 in the Ogden Temple.
Carol leaves behind her son Kevin Brown (Billie), grandson Tyler Brown – (the apple of her eye), siblings Grant Bodily (Judy) of East Layton UT, Barbara Norseth (Bill) of Roy, UT and Roger Bodily (Cathy) of Hooper, UT. Carol also leaves behind four nieces, two nephews, eight great nieces, eight great nephews, one great, great nephew and one great, great niece. Carol was preceded in Death by her Husband (Jerry), parents (Myron and Ruth) and a great nephew (Mac).
After graduating Davis High School in 1960, Carol began her career with the IRS. Jerry’s Air Force service took them to Okinawa, Japan, and Clovis, New Mexico. Carol fulfilled the role of an Air Force wife. After 20 years of service, Jerry retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1978, making Clearfield their home. Carol had an extensive network of friends from all over the United States.
Upon settling in Clearfield, Carol spent most of her life as a homemaker and baby sitter for her great nieces and nephew. She was a lifelong caregiver, spending her life taking care of family and doing things to help others.
Carol was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including the Clearfield 23rd Ward and loved her visits from the Ward neighbors, who were her second family.
The Clearfield Literary Guild kept Carol active, serving as The President for many terms. Reading was one of her many passions.
Carol loved her grand puppies and enjoyed their visits and kisses.
Quilting was a favorite activity for Carol. She taught quilting, helped others learn to quilt and continued to make beautiful quilts until a short time before her passing.
The family is thankful for the extraordinary staff at Raintree Assisted Living in Syracuse. Carol loved the staff and their care and love made her final months comfortable and happy.
A celebration of Carol and Jerry’s Lives will be announced for friends and family at a later date. I
