Carol Lee Gammon

Carol Hite Gammon passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the age of 76. She was born on April 12, 1937 to Bernard and Katherine Howe, the oldest of five children and raised in Wichita, Kansas. She attended and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy High School in 1955. On May 16, 1956, Carol married David K. Hite Sr. (the love of her life), although they were later divorced, they were able to find peace with each other and remained very close to each other. She married George Gammon on June 27, 1989. They spent five wonderful years together and moved to Gravette, Arkansas in July of 1992. She spent two short years in Arkansas and couldn''t stand the thought of being without her children and grandchildren here in Utah and decided to move back home to be with them. At that time she and George thought it be best that they part ways and later divorced, but they too, also stayed in contact with each other. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to all that ever crossed paths with her. Her greatest love of all was her grandchildren, they meant the world to her, and she took excellent care of them all. Carol retired from Autoliv in Ogden, Utah in 2003, where she worked as a production associate. She later started a part time job at Affordable Pet Groomers in Roy, Utah. She had an absolute love for this job because she fell in love with every Shih Tzu puppy that came through the door, and the very dear friends she acquired while employed there.

Carol is survived by her children, Terri Marshburn, David K. "Skip" (Colleen) Hite Jr., Mary (Ken) Ramage, Mike (Jill) Hite, and her absolute favorite John (Traci) Hite; sister, Patricia (Paul) Hrnchar; brothers, Richard (Diane) Howe, Jim Howe; grandchildren, Kristin (Evan) Hicken, Ryan Archibald, Tonia Ramage (Burney Czupich), Trace Ramage, Hali Marshburn, Stephanie Malan, Josh Malan, Mathew Malan, Colton Poore, Weston Hite, Mckel "Keli" Hite; great grandchildren, Leya Czupich, Tyler Archibald, Ashtyn Archibald, Dominic Hicken, Jaxton Hicken. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Katherine, sister Mary Bell, and niece Daina Bell.

A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, October 9th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Roy Eagles Lodge, 5130 South 1700 West.

In lieu of flowers, Huntsman Cancer Institute, 1950 Circle of Hope, SLC, UT 84112 or St. Jude''s Hospital at StJude.org.
