Carol Ann Rackeweg was born on December 24, 1940 in Hardin, Montana.  Carol was preceded in death by her husband Larry Rackeweg, her mother Hazel Duffy, her brother David Wedel and several cousins, aunts, and uncles.  Carol and Larry were wed on November 21, 1981 in Missoula, Montana.  Carol and Larry raised three children and as a family they moved to Layton, Utah in 1987.

Carol was a very hard working mother.  She worked at Hill Air Force Base for several years in an administrative office where she later retired.  Carol than moved with her husband to Henderson, Nevada; where she worked for St. Rose Hospital as a secretary.  She enjoyed her job and working with the Nuns that served there. 

Carol was a believer in God who prayed regularly, studied her Bible, and showed kindness and compassion to others.  She enjoyed cooking, traveling, reading, writing poetry, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  Carol had four granddaughters, Alex, Samantha, Makayla, Courtney, one grandson Dillon and three step-grandsons Austin, Darijum, Ryken.

Carol is survived by her three children Steve (Julie), Christy (Rod), and Pat (Alaina).  Her family will miss her deeply and believe the world will not be the same without her. 

Her family would like to thank the care she received from Roy City Fire Department, the nurses and physicians at Davis Hospital and Medical Center, and the staff at Davis Family Physicians.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
