Carol W. Thompson
A remarkable and beautiful wife, mother, and grandmother, Carol W. Thompson, 93, passed gently into the open arms of our Heavenly Father on April 11, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was a joy and treasure to her family.
Carol was born in Salina, Utah on September 6, 1919, a daughter of Junius and Florence Webb. She was educated in the Provo school system and was Valedictorian of her class. She married her high school sweetheart, Samuel Paul Thompson in Farmington, Utah. Their union was cultivated for almost 78 years and was blessed with 3 children.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved serving in various callings especially as a Visiting Teacher. Carol treasured a picture that she and her husband had with the Prophet, President Thomas S. Monson.
Her home was immaculate and she was an excellent cook. She was always cooking something special for her family and friends.
She had an amazing personality. She was the ultimate optimist and loved to laugh enjoying life to the fullest.
Carol had a heart of gold and was the sunshine in all of our lives. She loved everything life had to offer. People were attracted to her. Mom enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, eating out, and watching sporting events, especially the Utah Jazz and BYU.
Carol is survived by her husband; son, Jay (Patty) Thompson of Hooper, daughter, Joan (Bervard) Smith of South Ogden; 6 granddaughters, 19 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; and one niece and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol June Thompson; sister, Bell Nickerson, and brother, Harold Webb all of whom joyously greeted mom with open arms in heaven.
