Carol Bea VanOrden Weaver

June 1, 1936 ~ January 30, 2016

Carol Bea VanOrden Weaver, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandma returned peacefully to the arms of our Heavenly Father surrounded by her loving family on January 30, 2016, after a long and well fought battle with Alzheimer’s.

Carol was born on June 1, 1936 to Don M and Irvene Thompson VanOrden in Logan, Utah. She grew up in the Ogden area and graduated from Ogden High. She was the eldest of four children, where she learned early to be responsible and work hard.

On June 15, 1956, she married Jerry D Weaver in the Logan LDS Temple. They lived in several states as their young family grew, happy to return to the Syracuse, Utah area where they called home for over 40 years.

Carol worked at HAFB for 4 years following high school. After returning to Utah she managed the family rental property business at Realex Realty. Everyone loved her, many of the tenants and vendors still ask about her. One of her favorite sayings was “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all” and she lived by it. Her pleasant, even personality and strong work ethic were a great blessing and recognized by many. She spent many hours working with her five children, supporting them in music, soccer, scouts, 4H, dance, school and teaching them in her quiet way, always loving them unconditionally. She rarely did anything for herself, always thinking of everyone else first.

She was an active member of the LDS church, holding many callings and serving faithfully throughout her life. Sharing her love of the gospel with her family in her quiet, unassuming way. One of the highlights of her life was going on a mission to serve in New York, with her husband Jerry. She loved traveling, going to Lake Powell every summer with our family (even though she hated the water!) having family birthday dinners each month, camping, going to Bouse, AZ for winter and walking. She was an avid walker, she loved to walk, particularly with her dear Syracuse friends Peggy and Sonja at 5am!

Surviving are her husband Jerry D Weaver; children, Lynette Jensen (Jim), Kevin Weaver (Irma), Kyle Weaver (Sheri), Tyler Weaver (Donea) and daughter- in-law Barbara Weaver; siblings, Daun Marie Larson (Ollie), Cleve VanOrden (Kaye), sister- in-law, Jean VanOrden, 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, brother LaVon VanOrden, son Dale Weaver and a great-grand-daughter, JacLynn Blake Larsen.

Special thanks to all those that have provided tender care at Mt Ridge and Legacy Hospice (especially Stefanie her sweet nurse) assisting her in this long and hard fought battle.

Till we meet again sweet Mom.
