Carol Christensen Wride

January 1, 1938 ~ February 10, 2017

Carol Christensen Wride passed away peacefully at home on February 10, 2017.  She was 79.

Carol was born on January 1, 1938, in Provo, to Linford and Esther Christensen.  She spent her early years in Escalante, Bryce Canyon, and American Fork.  Carol graduated from American Fork High School and attended Brigham Young University.

She married her high school sweetheart, Dale Wride, on August 21, 1958, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  In 1960 the couple moved to North Ogden.  Carol loved North Ogden, and she lived there continuously until her death.

Carol worked for the Bank of American Fork, the IRS, and the Weber County School District.  As a secretary in the schools she was efficient and knew how to keep things running.  Carol knew all the students’ names, and she frequently passed out Band-Aids and other forms of comfort to the children.  Carol always kept an eye on the children who didn’t seem to have as much going for them as others.  She loved little children.

She was a life-long and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She served in many capacities, including Relief Society President, Jr. Sunday School Coordinator, and Ward Music Chair.  Her favorite calling was being the Primary pianist.  After retiring, she and her husband served two missions together for the Church.

Carol loved her family, and they knew it.  She tried to make every event with them as special and memorable as possible, no matter where they lived.  She did not believe in saving her best things for later.  Rather, she regularly used her best things and her best efforts for her family.

She enjoyed gerbera daisies, classical music, raspberries, anything navy blue, and Primary songs.  She was a gracious hostess and a good cook.  She was generous and determined to the end.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, as well as a brother, Robert, and a sister, Linda.  She is survived by her husband, Dale and their three children and spouses,  Brent (Ellen), Christine (Dale), and Matthew (Michal).  She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, as well as her sisters, Ann and Joyce; and her brother, Kay.

The family is appreciative of Julie Lee and her remarkable and caring IHC Hospice associates, as well as Christel Smith and her staff of loving caretakers.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the North Ogden 5th Ward, 626 East 2600 North.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.
