Carol Jean Combe Wright

Carol Jean Combe Wright, 81, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016. She was born on February 22, 1934 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of John William and Myrtle Jensen Combe.
She married her high school sweetheart Llewellyn “Lew” Morby Wright on March 25, 1953. They were married 62 wonderful years. They loved doing temple work together. They also spent many hours working in their beautiful yard. They also enjoyed having their kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids come and run through the water when they flooded their yard.
Carol was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served faithfully as Stake and Ward Relief Society President, Stake and Ward organist for many years. She was always the life of the party at Girls Camp. Lew and Carol served a mission in Nigeria together.
She worked at Pioneer Elementary for 32 years as a secretary where principals, teachers, students, and anyone who passed through the office doors just loved her.
She loved to play the piano and organ and played for many singing groups. Carol was an excellent pie maker which she loved doing. She was famous for her delicious apple pies and chicken pies. She made thousands over the years and made many great memories with her friends and family in the kitchen. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. She could be found most mornings in the summer out picking raspberries, cucumbers, and or weeding.
Carol is survived by her husband, Lew; sons, Paul Wright, Rockville, Maryland and Greg (Julie) Wright, West Point; daughters, Karen (Brent) Bassett, Roy; Diane (Troy) Bell, Roy; and Cathy (Ray) Harrison, Douglasville, GA; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, brother, Byron Combe; sister, Colleen Porter; sister-in-law, Gail Combe; and brother-in-law, Scott Rogers. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gary Combe; sister, Joan Rogers; brother-in-law, Claron Porter; and sister-in-law, Arline Combe.
A Family Gathering will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Lotus Park and Brighton Hospice for their kindness and gentle care.
