Carole B. Hampson
WASHINGTON TERRACE – Carole Bender Hampson returned home to her Heavenly Father on Friday, August 22, 2008.
She was born July 3, 1930 in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of Arthur and Diantha Bender. She
attended Ogden High School and had lived in the South Ogden area for all her married life.
Carole married the love of her life, Kenneth Hampson, on August 20, 1948 in Ogden and they were later sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple. They had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. This union brought four children, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed raising her family and serving others. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was active in many church callings. She taught Primary for 22 years, was a Cub Scout Den Mother for 10 years, and active in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Carole was active with her monthly sewing club. She also enjoyed bowling with her husband for six years and with the ladies for 27 years. She also enjoyed camping.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth W. Hampson, Washington Terrace; three sons, Craig (Linda) Hampson, Roy; Keith Hampson, Peterson; Cris (Gloria Jean) Hampson, Pleasant View; one daughter, Carrie Hampson Gresham, Ogden; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Robbie (Gene) Wattenbarger, Port Huenme, CA.
Preceding Carole in death were her brother Clair Bender, and her twin sister Merle Anderson.
Carole was the brightest star in our lives and will be sincerely missed.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 27th at 1:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends and family may call at the mortuary on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from Noon to 12:45 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., South Ogden.
