Carol Wintle Gooch, 91, of Harrisville, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 29, 2014.

Carol was born on January 10, 1923, in Taylor, Utah, to Albert Wintle and Jane Welch.  She married George Owen Gooch on November 26, 1942, in Malad, Idaho.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Utah LDS Temple on March 31, 1966.  He passed away on September 18, 2011.  Carol attended Weber High School and was active in playing softball and volleyball.  During WWII, Carol worked at Hill Air Force Base where she repaired airplane engines and worked on the bodies of the planes. She also worked at Safeway as a head sales clerk and later in the school lunch program.

Carol was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings.  Carol enjoyed sewing and has received various awards for her beautiful work.  Carol also loved to go on the yearly deer hunt with her family and many fishing trips with family to Big Creek.  Her greatest enjoyment came from raising her six children and spending time with them.

Carol is survived by her children, Ronald (Karen), Barry, Deon (Pat Poce), Gerald, and Gaylene (Dennis) Packard.  She has one surviving brother, Don Wintle.  Carol has 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, George Owen, and her son, George Marlin.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
