Caroline W. Spurlock
OGDEN - Caroline Webster Spurlock passed away Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the age of 91.
She was born in Douglas, Wyoming on May 2, 1918, the only child of Oliver K. Webster and Minnie Smith Webster. She received her Associate''s Degree from Colorado Women''s College and B.A. from the University of Wyoming.
On August 23, 1942, she married John H. (Joe) Spurlock in Douglas, Wyoming, after which they moved to Ogden and raised three children: John W. (Joanne), Eden; Stephen C. (Margaret), South Ogden; and G. Scott (Gail), Woodbury, NJ. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Stephen, Aaron, Andrew and Spencer Spurlock, and four great grandchildren. Her husband Joe preceded her in death on June 10, 1975.
She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Ogden and served in many capacities over the years.
She was an Alpha Chi Omega alumni and a two-term president of Chapter P PEO. She volunteered at St. Benedict''s Hospital for over 20 years, and was the oldest volunteer at the Ice Sheet during the 2002 Winter Olympics. Her interests and hobbies included gardening, raising orchids, bridge, golf & travelling the world.
The family would like to thank Mountain Ridge Assisted Living for their loving care and the support given by Hospice for Utah.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 2 p.m. Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 South Washington Blvd.
The family will meet friends at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. on Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Ogden or the St. Benedict''s Foundation.
