“Together Again”

Our beautiful, sweet mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt returned to the arms of her husband and son on Sunday, September 6, 2015.  She was born in Logan, Utah on October 29, 1925 to Harvey Joseph Olsen and Marie Larsen.

Caroll grew up in Young Ward and attended South Cache High until her father’s passing.  She spent her senior year at Weber High.

Mom married Donald W. Orton in the Logan LDS Temple on April 12, 1944.  He was serving in the Army Air Corps.  Following WWII they moved to North Ogden where they raised five children.

Caroll was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holding many leadership positions in the North Ogden 2nd and 4th Wards.  She taught her children to love the gospel.  Mom and dad served an LDS Mission to Idaho Falls.

Her greatest love was her family.  She enjoyed camping and traveling with them.  She was especially close to her brothers and sisters, Russell, Clara, Reta, Joseph, Doyle, and Gerald.

Mom was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, and all kinds of crafts.

After dad passed she returned to her beloved Cache Valley living in Avon where she attended the Paradise 1st Ward.  She spent the last year living in West Haven at Lotus Park where she was cared for by many loving attendants and also South Davis Home Health and Hospice.

Caroll is survived by her son, Kent (Sharon) Orton; daughters, Tana (Gary) Lowe, Karlene (Joe) Petersen, and Sally (Tony) Johnson; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and two brothers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Congressman William H. Orton; grandson, Daniel Orton; two brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
