Carolyn S. Aldrich
OGDEN a" Carolyn Stokes Aldrich passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 following a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
She was born on Christmas day in 1946 and her mother declared her the best Christmas doll she ever received. Carolyn was the youngest of four children and grew up in Cedar City, Utah and then South Ogden, Utah where she attended Bonneville High School. She enjoyed cheerleading and skiing, and had a contagious happiness about her as she was voted Miss Smile her senior year.
Carolyn married her high school sweetheart, William Aldrich, in 1966 and they had two children while they were together.
She worked at Hill Air Force Base until her medical retirement in 1985.
Carolyn was a shining example of embracing joy and a positive attitude in the face of staggering trials. Hers was truly a life well lived and while we miss her very much we are grateful to know that she is now vibrant and healthy and that we will see her again.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Jason Aldrich, California; daughter, Angela (Chad) Citte, North Ogden; grandchildren, Maxwell, Zachary, Lillian, and Ashton Citte, and brother, Jerald Stokes, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Alfred Stokes, mother, Janet Stokes Wood, brother, Howard "Bud" Stokes, sister Helen Rothey, former husband, William Aldrich, and granddaughter Bryleigh Elizabeth Aldrich.
The family would like to thank Lomond Peak Care Center for their tender care of Mom.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
