Carolyn Worrall Cromwell

Our loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, Carolyn Worrall Cromwell, 76, passed away January 11, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones.

In recent years, Carolyn has battled chronic pain and many severe health problems, but remained optimistic, kind and positive. She is the epitome of grace and strength. She fought a courageous battle to the end.

Carolyn was born August 19, 1933 in Ogden, Utah to Russell Fargo and Anna Crittenden Worrall, the third of eight children. She was raised and educated in the Ogden area.

She married Justin D. Garner in 1948 and was blessed with her eldest son, Dennis before divorcing in 1951. She married Robert E. Conroy in 1953 and again was blessed with three children, Anna, John and Carol. They later divorced in 1960. In 1961, she married Kenneth C. Cromwell. Through this marriage she was blessed with her fifth child, Shaundra. After she married Ken, their careers took them to California, Washington DC, Texas and back to Ogden, Utah, raising their family, and making life-long friends along the way. They were later divorced in 1981 but remained good friends. Carolyn had a gift of making instant and long lasting friendships consequent to her sweet, loving and humorous nature. Her laughter was most contagious.

Carolyn had a variety of careers. Her broad knowledge allowed her jobs such as, a machinist, explosives operator, electrical technician, as well as a waitress at Combes Drive Inn. But her number one priority was to raise her loving children. She was a skilled seamstress. Her daughters Barbies'' looked like a million bucks with wardrobes to die for. She passed on a love of sewing and crocheting to her girls.

She had many hobbies throughout her life. Camping, fishing, traveling, golfing, cooking, singing and also dancing and roller-skating at the Berthana, and last but not least Hop scotch (which she earned a champion title in!) She had a flair for style, elegance, rhythm and dance.

Carolyn loved to cook for her family and care for anyone who was sick or in need. Each of her children had their favorite recipes including her FAMOUS sweet and spicy mustard. Throughout life her optimistic attitude, genuine kindness and generous spirit of giving, has earned her great respect among her family, friends and work associates.

Three of her children served in the U.S. Armed Forces and she was proud and honored at this achievement; Dennis (Air Force), Anna, (Navy), John (Marines). Spending time with her children and grandchildren made her happy and complete. You could always spot her car... it''s the one with the license plates that say, "My grandkids are cuter than yours". Carolyn is survived by her five children, Dennis W. (Kathy) Conroy, Sr., Anna (Denis, deceased) Kennedy, John R. (Christine) Conroy, Carol (Steve )Conroy, Shaundra Cromwell (Troy) Garcia, all of the Ogden area; seven grandchildren, Dennis, Jr., Derrick, Mandy, Kaylee, Karissa, Kyle, Casey Dane; and three great-grandchildren, Kyler, Korbin and Kaycen. She is also survived by three brothers, Russell L. Worrall, Larry A. Worrall, Wiley K. Worrall, all of the Ogden area; and two sisters, Louann (Harold) Ray and Jeannie (Steve) Bick, all of Ogden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ma and Pa, and two brothers, Ray and Dan.
