Carolyn Clayton Gravis

Our lovely, gracious, mother, grandmother and friend, Carolyn Gravis passed away on August 1, 2009.

She was born to Alice and Brigham in 1924. She married Christo Gravis in 1945. He preceded her in death. They had two children, Christine and Curt.

Carolyn graduated from the University of Utah and taught English at South Davis Jr. High for fifteen years. A dedicated mother and homemaker, she enjoyed hosting parties for friends and relatives.

She was grateful to be part of and among neighbors of the LDS 13th Ward and very proud that William Clayton author of ''Come, Come Ye Saints'' was her great-grandfather.

She is survived by Christine (late husband Frank), Curt (Coco), Micho, and Marion (Cory). Survivors include four great-grandchildren Charlie, Phoebe, Xander, and Penny. She is also survived by two wonderful sisters, Adele and Tootie and an extended family of relatives and friends, including her soul mate, Earl Sadler. Brothers Emmett (Bonnie) and Dean (Jolene) preceded her in death.

Carolyn requested no services be held. A celebration and remembrance of her life will follow in her, to quote "My Home Sweet Home." She hopes to be remembered by the happy occasions you have shared with her. Many thanks to the angels who were her caregivers. Funeral directors Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary. Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
