Carolyn Yim Kano
September 14, 1942 ~ December 16, 2017
Carolyn Yim Kano was born on September 14, 1928, in Ogden, Utah. She was the youngest of twelve children, born to See Lim “Sam” and Hee Shee Yim. Preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Rose, Susie, Helen, Mary, See Jin, George, Jim, Peter, Henry, John, and Jerry “Harry”.
Carolyn graduated from Ogden High School. She married Lyman T. Kano, later divorced. She worked for the U.S. Forest Service and the IRS.
Carolyn was an accomplished seamstress and avid reader. She liked to garden and travel. She loved animals, especially cats. She cared for several feral cat colonies in the Ogden and Roy areas.
Carolyn is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, and her dear friend, Helena Carney.
Special thanks to Kim DeWitt and Reina Dickson at Aspire Home Health and Hospice, and to the caring and compassionate staff at The Cottages Legacy Village of Taylorsville, especially Arian, Brighton and Melina, who were with her when she passed.
A family graveside service was held on Saturday, December 23, 2017. Interment was at the Ogden City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
