Carolyn Kaye Drew Morris

Carolyn Kaye Drew Morris was born October 10, 1943 to Donald and Carrie Drew in Denver, Colorado. She was taken from us on March 31, 2009 by a rare blood cancer called Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia.

She lived her early childhood years in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Her family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1958 where she attended East High School. Upon graduation, she chose to attend the University of Wyo., in Laramie where she earned her BA Degree in Elementary Education. There she met her future husband Maynard Morris. They were married on August 23, 1964 at the First Methodist Church in Salt Lake City, Utah. At the time of her death they had been married 44 years. Two sons were born to them Alan Grant and Kevin Ryan. As an Air Force family, they had opportunities to live in many states and a tour of duty at Ramstein AF Base, Germany.

Carolyn taught one year at Rowland Hall Saint Marks in Salt Lake City and often worked as a substitute teacher. Her greatest earthly joy was being a homemaker and mother. In the fall she could be found in the kitchen canning the produce from the family garden. She liked to paint and read about lighthouses. An unrealized goal was to visit the light houses on the Great Lakes and the eastern seaboard. She received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and Lord and served her sweet Savior as an AWANA Sparks Director/leader for 29 years. She served many years as a Kaysville Bible Church deaconess.

She is survived by her mother Carrie Drew, her brother Don Drew and his wife Judy, her husband Maynard and his mother Esther Morris, son Alan, son Kevin and his wife Robyn and two grandchildren, Miranda and Jesse.

A memorial service will be held at Kaysville Bible Church, 181 North Flint Street, Kaysville, Utah on 4 April 2009 at 5:00 PM (17:00). Fellowship will follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, she requested that any donations go to the Kaysville Bible Church missions program.

Funeral directors Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
