Carolyn Mae Tanner Peterson

Carolyn Mae Tanner Peterson, age 90, Ogden, Utah, passed away on Mother’s Day, May 11, 2014. Her loving spirit has left us to join her loved ones beyond the Veil. Carolyn was born on April 27, 1924 to DeOnge W. and Ellen Mae Hilton Tanner of Ogden, Utah. Her Mother passed away leaving a family of five children, ages 12, 10, 8, 6 and a new baby. Her Father later remarried Mary Grace Edwards whom she dearly loved, with five more siblings to add to a wonderful, loving family.
Carolyn attended Ogden High, but graduated from Montello, Nevada and later attended BYU in Provo. She found beauty in everything around her and her talents were many, as she made good use of them all. She loved people dearly including family, friends and strangers.
Carolyn married Heber C. “Bud” Peterson, Jr., on October 12, 1946 and was sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 23, 1991.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Tori (Robert) Bennett and her four children, Megan, Candace, Matthew, and Marcus and one great-granddaughter, Breanna; daughter-in-law Terrie (Steve) Lake and four children, Darryll, Jennifer, Travis (his children, Mason, Austin, Morgan, & Brenin), and JoDee Lake (Jarrod) (her sons, Xavier and Forrest), one great-grandson, Hudson; one great-great-grandson, Wesley; brothers, Richard (Kathy) Tanner, Paul (Ann)Tanner, Stephen (Lynn) Tanner, LeRoy Tanner, and Glen Tanner; and sisters, Zola Lykins, Ann (Ben) Bougher, and Mary Jane Tanner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bud; three children, Kristin Jean, Breck, and Darrell; brother, Earl Dee; sister-in-law, MaryLou Tanner and brother-in-law, Val Lykins.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
