Carolyn Anne Thorbs
Carolyn (Carol) Anne Thorbs went home to be with Jesus in heaven on January 2, 2017 at Davis Hospital and Medical Center in Layton.
She was born on February 6, 1949 in Augusta, Arkansas. She is the daughter of Mrs. Aldora Upshaw Green and Mr. John Roy Green (Step-father) and Mr. Virl Gillespie and Mrs. Jewel Gillespie (Step-mother). Carolyn graduated in 1967 from Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, Tennessee. (Go Warriors!)
She married the love of her life, Haywood Britt Thorbs, Sr. on September 22, 1967 and from that union they had two daughters and one son: Gjuandell L. Thorbs (Dell), Haywood Britt Thorbs II, and Christie Thorbs (Simon) and three grandchildren: Mrs. Kierra T. Lewis (Maurice), Amina, and Syede Banks.
Carolyn was a dedicated worker and gave 100% to all companies wherever she was employed. She was a retiree from Questar Regulated Service Company of SLC. She accepted Christ at an early age and rededicated her life back to Jesus Christ later in life. She worshipped and served Jesus the rest of her life. Carolyn’s most precious talents and gifts were serving God in all things and in all ways especially in living for Jesus Christ as a Born Again Christian. As a faithful, dedicated, involved member, and leader of Integrity Christian Fellowship Church Inc., she devoted her life to serving as the youth Sunday School and Bible Studies teacher. She was a Mighty Woman of Valor who served as a worshipper, secretary, finance committee member, and all around girl-Friday.
Mrs. Thorbs is survived by her husband, her children, a host of siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to mention individually.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Mrs. Aldora and Mr. John Roy Green (Stepfather), Mrs. Jewel and Mr. Virl Gillespie Jr., and her sister, Brenda Chapple Pate all from New Port, AR.
