Carolynn Anderson Hartman York

Carolynn was born the daughter of Dale K and Norma Weston Andersen in the old Dee Hospital.  She was raised and educated in Ogden, graduating from Ogden High School in 1956. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In September of 1956, Carolynn married Richard L. Hartmann, (later divorced).

 

Carolynn had a wide variety of experiences in her employment career. In 1956, she was employed by the Naval Supply Depot in Clearfield, she then went to work for Hill Air Force Base in 1965. In 1966 she worked for the Defense Mapping Agency in Clearfield, and in 1986 she went to work for Alpha Omega Enterprises, SLC. From 1995-2013 she was employed by the State of Utah.  Carolynn was a valued employee and received numerous awards while working for the Federal Government.

 

In July of 1985, she married Grant K. York in Sugarhouse, Utah.  Together they enjoyed golfing, traveling, basketball (U of U and the Jazz), football and playing cards.  She bowled for twenty years and golfed for fifty years, having a hole-in-one at Mt. Ogden (#12).

 

Carolynn moved back to Ogden from Salt Lake City in 1994 to help care for her father who passed away in 1994.  She later helped take care of her mother who passed away in April 1999.  Her husband, Grant, passed away in May 1994.

 

Survived by brother Micheal D. (Krista) Anderson; niece Erica (Tony) Beecher; great-nephew Anderson Beecher; great-niece Lillian Beecher; sister-in-law Nanette Anderson and many special and dear friends. Preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, parents and husband, Grant.

 

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
