Carter Jay McMerrick, 14 months, grew his angel wings in the loving arms of his parents on May 30, 2010.

He was born on March 27, 2009 in Layton, Utah, the son of Michael Jay and Heather Nicholson McMerrick. He spent many weeks in the hospital, and finally came home to his family on June 4th, 2009. There he spent his time touching many lives and leaving a lasting impression of what true love is.

Carter, you were the light of our lives, and we''ll never forget you. Thank you for everything you taught us about love.

Carter is survived by his parents; his brother and sister, Michael, and Jovie; his grandparents, Terry and Sherie Nicholson (Clinton), and Geri Greer (Ogden); and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 3rd at 9 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 South Chapel St., Layton.

The family will meet friends for a viewing on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

Interment, Clinton City Cemetery, 750 West 800 North.
