Casey Rex Casper

October 17, 1976 — February 18, 2025

Ogden

Casey Rex Casper, 48, passed away on February 18, 2025, due to unexpected medical complications. He was born October 17, 1976, in Ogden, Utah, to Bert and Janice Casper. Casey married Michelle Jamison in 2007, and they had a beautiful daughter. They later divorced.

Casey was a son, brother, uncle, and friend, but his favorite title was Dad. His greatest joy in life was his daughter, Carsen. You could find him in the front row at every event she was involved in cheering the loudest. His world revolved around her and he soaked up every minute they spent together. Casey worked at Hill Air Force Base for almost 20 years where he made lifelong friends. Casey had a huge heart and would do anything for anyone. He was the life of the party and brought a smile to everyone’s face. Whoever came into close contact with him became a friend for life.

Casey competed in team roping throughout high school rodeo. At the age of 14, he endured an ankle injury at a steer wrestling school which caused him several surgeries and lifelong pain. In hopes of a pain-free life, he chose to undergo a below-the-knee amputation. He had goals to walk pain-free and live a more active lifestyle. He had a love for racehorses and chariot racing and could not wait to be back on the track helping out.

Casey is survived by his daughter Carsen Casper, his mother, Janice Casper, and his sisters, Heidi Hadlock and Jaime (Ira) Slagowski. His nieces and nephews, Paige & Dax Hadlock, Ellie and Abbie Slagowski, and great-nieces and great-nephews, Lettie Morse, Ridge, Forbes, and Spencer Hadlock. Casey has always been known as the “Fun Uncle” full of practical jokes and pranks. He made sure every niece and nephew got to see the planes at Hill Air Force Base and of course, ice cream to top it off. He is preceded in death by his father, Bert Casper.
