Casey “Bear” Lee Kamhoot CLEARFIELD – Casey Lee Kamhoot, 17, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2008 at his home in Clearfield. Our hearts will be broken until we see you again. He was born July 30, 1990 in Layton, a son of Johnnie Leroy and Dawn Marie Baker Kamhoot. He moved to Clearfield when he was 14 years old. Casey was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church. He was baptized by his uncle, Bill Sarris and given his baptism name after his uncle, “Basili”. He loved music and playing the guitar. Casey was in a band called "Freedom Before Dying" with his friends, Jerome, Phat Sean, and his brother Tyson. Many friends knew him as “K-Slay”. He loved them all as family. He was so excited to get his Play Station 3. He also enjoyed four-wheeling and wrote his own music to sing and play the guitar. Surviving are his father, Johnnie L. Kamhoot, Clinton; his mother, Dawn M. Swink, Clearfield; five siblings, Tyson (Sadie) Kamhoot and McKayla Swink, both of Clearfield; Randee (Ashley) Kamhoot, Ogden; Brittany (Chad) Beckstead, Layton; Nikki Swink, Ogden; his niece, Brylee, his nephew, Rayden; his grandparents, Esther and John Kamhoot, Ogden; Gary and Geri Pilgrim, Syracuse; Ray Baker, Clearfield; his great-grandparents, Joe and Viola Valdez, Ogden; and two uncles, Paul Baker, Clearfield; Troy Kamhoot, Ogden. Preceding Casey in death were his great-grandparents, Paul and Maxine Killian, great-grandfather Max Baker and great-grandparents, Paul and Lucille Heywood, and Jan and Maria Kamhoot. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Father Mario officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the family would be appreciated.
