Casimiro Eufemio Garcia, 80, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014. He was born March 20, 1934 in Cuyamungue, New Mexico the son of Avelino and Matilde Maria Gonzales Garcia. Casimiro married Maria Teresa Trejo-Ruiz on December 9, 1961 in Los Angeles, California.
He served in the Army, Navy and the U.S.A.F. and retired from Hill Air Force Base. He was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Layton and the Knights of Columbus.
Casimiro enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, feeding his birds, visiting family, leather carving, gardening, fixing his house and making breakfast.
Surviving are his wife Teresa; sons: Roberto Garcia, Ruben (Wendi) Garcia, Julian (Mandy) Garcia, Mario (Amy) Garcia, Andrew (Robynn) Garcia; daughter, Edna (Tim) Sanchez; 18 grandchildren; two brothers: Siliviano Garcia, Benigno Garcia; and two sisters: Edwina Valencia and Teresa Sisneros.
Preceded in death by his parents and siblings Sigi Garcia and Dolores Manzanares.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 9 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 South Chapel Street, Layton, Utah. Friends may visit family Sunday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. A Vigil with Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
