Beloved wife, best friend, mother, daughter, and aunt passed
away peacefully on June 10, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family
throughout the relentless fight to regain her health. When she eventually
passed away, she was held tenderly in the arms of her husband and soulmate,
Mark Anthony Swiger.
Cassie was born in Escondido, CA on March 23, 1984, to Leianna Writebole-
Corbin and Gregory Smith. Cassie was an only child. She graduated from
Bonneville High School, UT after moving from her childhood home in
Stevenson, WA during her junior year at Stevenson High.
Shortly after moving to Utah, in 2001, Cassie found forever love with her
future husband and best friend, Mark Anthony Swiger. After a few years, they
were married (2004) and were blessed with two wonderful, smart, and
respectful boys, Jaiden Swiger and Braxton Swiger. Both of her sons’
characters represent everything Cassie taught and lived. She loved each of
them unconditionally, and guided them from her heart, compounded with her
experiences and beliefs. She was incredibly devoted to her family and
dedicated her life to her children, husband, nieces, nephews, family members
and friends.
Cassie loved to spend her time with family and friends camping, fishing,
hiking, backpacking, gardening, cuddling her pets, and getting her nails and
eyelashes done. She always caught the biggest fish. She was a fabulous cook.
She was the toughest, kindest, most loving, and most genuine little person who
you always wanted on your team. Her 5,000-piece heart puzzle contained a
piece for every friend and family member, plus some extra.
Cassie is preceded in death by her mother Leianna Writebole-Corbin,
grandmother Patsy Corbin, and best friend Ashley Clark from Stevenson High.
They have reunited on the other side, and we can expect a grand reunion and
celebration as she welcomes all her family and friends in the future.
Cassie is survived by her husband Mark Anthony Swiger, sons Jaiden Swiger
(18) and Braxton Swiger (15), fathers Greg Smith and Mark Alan Swiger,
mothers Susan (Cleland) Swiger and Chris (Fielder) Swiger, sister Jenine
(Swiger) Lamano, brother Brent Swiger, and many nieces and nephews.
Ceremonial services will be held at The Genesis Project, 3525 Riverdale Rd. Ogden, UT
84405 on June 23, 2023, 3:45 PM. Family and friends are welcome.
