Catherine Owens Harper

Aunt Cathy, AKA The Best Auntie Ever, AKA Catherine Owens Harper, was born on August 16, 1959 at Hill Air Force Base in Clearfield, Utah. She fit a lot of life into her "29" years!

She graduated from Clearfield High School in 1977, but not before making many friends that she kept her whole life. She went straight to work for my grandpa at Owens Auto and stayed in the automotive industry the rest of her life. Aunt Cathy married Uncle Mike January 26, 1985 (divorced 2019) and have remained great friends. They shared many adventures together including my favorite: camping, boating, and fishing at Flaming Gorge.

Aunt Cathy only had three rules we had to follow: she caught the first fish, she caught the biggest fish, and she caught the most fish! Aunt Cathy loved her pets. She always had kitties, doggies, and even a skunk! But, lucky for me, she loved her nieces and nephews the most! She could always talk us into trouble such as shaving heads, breaking rules, pillow fights, or buying way, way, way, too many toys. Aunt Cathy always supported her nieces and nephews too. She came to my elementary school play last year and all of my Karate tournaments-even one all of the way in Las Vegas just a couple months ago!

Aunt Cathy was called home on November 13, 2023. I think she gave Grandpa Max and Grandpa Jack a big hug from all of us. We will miss her so much. But I know she will be watching out for all of us, her puppy Moby, her kitty Milo, and, most of all, us nieces and nephews.

We will be celebrating Aunt Cathy's life Saturday December 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family Saturday from  9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary prior to the service.
