Catherine Nalder

Catherine L. Hillman Nalder was born in Rexburg, Idaho to Clifford and Lyda DeMott Hillman on September 7, 1930. She spent her childhood in Plano, Idaho where her parents farmed and raised cattle.

On July 3, 1946 she married Vivien A. Nalder in the Idaho Falls Temple.  She moved to Layton, Utah where she lived for over 70 years in the old Nalder family home, even after Vivien passed in 2004.

She had seven children, four daughters and three sons. She is survived by her children Jackie and Nick Hillman of Kilgore, Idaho, Dan and Arleen Nalder of Lewiston, Utah, Carolyn and Randy Weaver of Layton, Utah, Debra and Ron Rose, of Buhl, Idaho, Tim Nalder of Mendon, Utah, Bill and Darlene Nalder of Richmond, Utah, a son-in-law, Ron Bertram of Monticello, Kentucky, her sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Blaine Harris of Bountiful, Utah, brother-in-law Darwin Brown of Rexburg, Idaho, sister-in-law Josephine Walters of Sandy, Utah, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vivien, her daughter Michelle Bertram, her sister Barbara Brown, her brother Richard Walters, a granddaughter, Kamie Nalder, a daughter in law, Giselle Nalder, her faithful little dog Shadow, and her feline companion, Pretty Boy.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
