Cathleen Bitter

Cathleen Bitter, 57, passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 at her home. She was born April 21, 1958 in Seattle, WA, the daughter of Jerry Wesley and Esther Mae Butterfield Christensen.

Cathleen married Meredith Victor Bitter on June 13, 1979 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were the parents of one son and three daughters.

She enjoyed cooking, interior decorating, landscaping, hiking, horses, gardening, sewing and traveling. She is an exceptionally strong woman, full of love and dreams. She has a heart of gold and is one of the biggest encouragers we know. “Cathleen . . . there is so much to say . . . her warm smile . . . her sparkling eyes . . . and her fun laugh have always captivated me with both joy and adventure. She carries a distinctive beauty and poise that gives strength to those around her. She enjoys peace in God and His outdoor beauty and fulfillment in giving service to others. Creativity drives her passions. From her love of family and food to . . . interior decorating to . . . outdoor landscaping . . . her passion is to bring peace and beauty for all to enjoy.” Her Sweetheart “Vic” Meredith.

She is survived by her husband, son Jonathan David Bitter, Providence, UT; daughters Tabitha Kim (Calvin) Morrow, Roseville, CA; Nicole Jenae (Michael) Carey, Herriman, UT; Rebecca Emily Diana Bitter, Providence, UT; five grandchildren: Celestial Autumn Morrow, Christopher Xavier Morrow, Joshua Bryce Carey, Jenna LeeAnn Carey, and Liona Ashley Carey.

Also survived by her brothers: Jerry Wesley Christensen Jr., Clearfield, UT; Frederick Lloyd (Shelly) Christensen, Silverdale, WA; Chris (Sue) Wilson, CA; Larry Wilson, Mitchell, SD; brothers-in-law Richard M. (Juanita) Bitter, Ogden,UT, Michael J. (Joy) Bitter, Orem, UT; Forrest R. (Cherie) Bitter, West Jordan, UT, Julian J. (Sherrida) Bitter, Orem, UT, Kenyon E. (Tiffany) Bitter, Orem, UT; LeGrand W. (Donita) Bitter, Syracuse, UT; sisters-in-law Marilyn (Neal) Southwick, Meridian, ID, and Margo (Forrest) Hammeren, Emmett, ID.

Preceded in death by her parents Jerry Wesley and Esther Mae Christensen; grandparents Frederick Wesley Christensen, Jessie Merle Kelly, Lloyd Alfred Butterfield and Verda Emma Pearl Steckelberg.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 1, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Providence 10th Ward LDS Chapel, 262 Canyon Road, Providence, UT. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, May 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 300 N. Main, and Monday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Interment will be held at approximately 3 p.m. at the Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 E. Crestwood Road.
